Do you ever feel 'stuck' in a negative emotional state?
The more time we spend focused on how stressed we are, how 'overwhelmed', how frazzled, the more we embed these states of mind.
TRY THIS EXERCISE:
If you could feel any way that you want to right now, what would you choose? (Energised, excited, connected, content? What else?)
If you did feel like that, right now, how would you be sitting?
What music would you listen to?
Would you breathe deeply - or would your breathing be shallow?
Would you move around, sit still or lie down?
What would you be wearing?
Would you stay in or go out?
Would you seek company or avoid company?
What script would you be running in 'self talk'?
What is the very next thing that you would do?
Sometimes when we continue to feel trapped in a certain state of mind it's because we're focusing on angst and behaving in a way that fuels it.
If you're going to fuel any emotions today, why not pick one that will serve, support and sustain you? Focus on that and behave in a way that will ignite it.
