Do you ever feel 'stuck' in a negative emotional state?

The more time we spend focused on how stressed we are, how 'overwhelmed', how frazzled, the more we embed these states of mind.

TRY THIS EXERCISE:

If you could feel any way that you want to right now, what would you choose? (Energised, excited, connected, content? What else?)

  • If you did feel like that, right now, how would you be sitting?

  • What music would you listen to?

  • Would you breathe deeply - or would your breathing be shallow?

  • Would you move around, sit still or lie down?

  • What would you be wearing?

  • Would you stay in or go out?

  • Would you seek company or avoid company?

  • What script would you be running in 'self talk'?

  • What is the very next thing that you would do?

Sometimes when we continue to feel trapped in a certain state of mind it's because we're focusing on angst and behaving in a way that fuels it.

If you're going to fuel any emotions today, why not pick one that will serve, support and sustain you? Focus on that and behave in a way that will ignite it.
